The new converts in Thessalonica received the Word of God with great joy and turned from idols to serve the living God; because of that, their faith became known throughout the nearby regions. Why was their faith so vibrant and far reaching? They were expectantly waiting for God’s Son from heaven! Their belief made them examples to the world and caused them to be bold in sharing their faith.

We are living in unpredictable and perplexing times, and Paul’s letters to the Thessalonian Christians provide us with clarity, comfort, and hope. They also give us biblical answers about the rapture, the Antichrist, and Jesus’ second coming. If 1 and 2 Thessalonians make one thing clear, it’s that Jesus will return for His people and bring about final justice. This study will prepare us for the imminent return of Jesus and inspire us to live for His glory until we see Him face to face.
The Need-to-Know Bible Study Series was inspired by the words of the Lord to Hosea: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). More than ever, we need to know God’s Word that we might be light in today’s darkness, especially as the return of Jesus draws near. We also need to know God’s Word for ourselves. We need to know how to study it, how to live it, and how to share it in love with gracious boldness.
